snap crunch snap

Tate's Bake Shop gluten-free chocolate chip cookies.

It is good to know, of course, that anytime I need a chocolate chip cookie, I can find a crunchy gf Tate's bag at my nearest upscale bodega. I am going to save that impulse for Emergency Situations Only, as these are kind of a dangerous little treat. They are extremely buttery, very crunchy, and beg to be dipped in tea. Or milk. Or...ice cream. What I mean is: one is not enough, and one is also not quite good enough. They are that tricky kind of snack that is really only delicious every fourth bite, so you have to keep eating them and eating them, chasing after that quarter of a good flavor you experienced three bites ago.

Another way of saying it is: they have milk-chocolate chips. I am a semi-sweet kinda gal, which is also to say, if you want a chocolate chip cookie, make Betty Crocker's mix and you WON'T be disappointed.

Also, cookies "don't count" if you make them yourself. Everyone knows that.
