Employment has not been the forte of the Dunn family these past few weeks. Let's just say that when Saturday presented itself looking like this:
... we decided to pool our meagre resources and enjoy some midday cocktails. Feigning wealth, we appreciated the roof deck and sipped tangy beverages, dug into some guacamole, and let the breeze rifle through our collective strawberry blond hair. I post this on a Friday so that you can all prepare for a lovely weekend with the following recipe.
recipe courtesy/[sic] Gabriel Dunn
tomato juice, not v8
horseradish
pepper
salt
worsterchershreireshire shauce
tabasco
lemon and lime juice/wedges
celery salt
gf beef broth
olives & celery to garnish
vodka, obviously
The hidden ingredient is BEEF BROTH. The secret (but not hidden) ingredient is CELERY SALT, which lines the rim of the glass, like a margarita. It's like gazpacho, but for breakfast, but with vodka.
Clap your hands if you appreciate my 70's food photography. And don't say bloody mary three times at midnight in the bathroom mirror, or as slumber party legend has it... well, never mind. That's why you drink a bloody mary before noon.
When you finish graduate school and can't get a teaching job, I definitely think you should try food photography -- the pictures of the cookies and the most recent drinks are really great!!! Makes me want to eat or drink them immediately. M
