THIS JUST IN:

Maybe the reason the gluten-free diet is so "popular" right now is simply because of technological innovation. Information arrives to me so rapidly I can barely keep up. Support evidence:

Item 1. This gluten-free biscotti, photographed moments ago by my glutenous cousin. Available at Pasticceria Bruno, on LaGuardia place right here in the eastern portion of the West Village.

Item 2: From a different glutenous correspondent, who was with me at the very beginnings of my gluten-free diet. We were in Ireland, can you imagine? Cider all around! Cider and Jameson. This pizza parlor - PortoBello Pizza - is in Astoria, Queens. I will schlep out there to investigate further.
