My name is Olivia and I have been an eater my entire life. I come from a long line of food lovers, connoisseurs, and general enthusiasts. I don't want to brag or anything, but the first time I ever saw my father cry was the day Julia Child died.
We love to eat. I love to eat.
This was working out pretty well, food and me, me and food. I'd eat it, digest it, and start all over again. Bagels on Sundays, "Let's just order a pizza," "Cone or dish?" the normal American lexicon of food. Tasty and convenient as this was, it was making me sick. When I explain this to people, and believe me, it makes great party conversation, they say, "That sucks!"
No it doesn't. Feeling sick sucks. Walking around with a spiky bowling ball in my stomach sucks. Feeling tired sucks. And... the complaining ends here. And ... the excitement begins now, here, in New York City, where GF opportunities seem to pop up every day!
Instead of emailing my (gluten-free) mother every time I learn something exciting, develop an easy recipe, or find a new restaurant, I will post it here. (I will also email my mother, to remind her to read my blog.)
Happy eating!
